Biography

Fernando Buarque de Lima Neto has a PhD in Artificial Intelligence by University of London and a Diploma of Imperial College in Artificial Neural Networks (2002), a Master's Degree in Computing by Federal University of Pernambuco (1998) and a Bachelor degree in Computer Science by Catholic University of Pernambuco (1991). He has studied Business Administration, and read Philosophy of Science and Neuroscience. His research interests are Intelligent Decision Support, Metaheuristics and Optimizations. Prof. Buarque is an accredited researcher by CNPq (The Brazilian Research Council) and Senior Member of IEEE. Currently, Fernando Buarque is (i) Associate Professor of University of Pernambuco, (ii) Visiting Professor to University of Johannesburg, South Africa, (iii) Graduate Faculty of Florida Institute of Technology, (iv) Chair of 2013 BRICS Countries and Brazilian Congress on Computational Intelligence and (v) Co-Chair of 2014/2015 BRAGFOST (Brazil-Germany Symposia in Frontiers of Science) of Alexander von-Humboldt (Germany) & CAPES (Brazil) funding agencies.
